The corporation has been family – owned since 1979 and employs over 2000 employees in 28 different companies and wineries which it owns. The corporation markets 430 million bottles a year all over the world with an annual sales turnover of 930 million euros where 76% of the produce is for export and 24% of the produce is sold in France. The corporation is considered one of the leaders in the field of wines in France and the wineries it owns are from all the geographical regions of France where wine grapes are grown.

Cava sparkling wine is defined as the Spanish champagne wine and is made from grape varieties grown in Spain. Spanish cava is produced according to all the rules of production of champagne in France and only due to the fact that sparkling wines produced in France can be called by this name the sparkling wines in Spain were called “Cava”. The translation of the word “cava” is a cellar / cave that indicates the aging process of the wine in barrels in a cellar. The wine continues to ferment in the bottle after the filling process and is produced from grape varieties grown in Spain using the “Method Champagne ” production method similar to French champagne, is the aging process in barrels and then continued fermentation in the bottle after filling.
