This bottling represents the top tier of the Old Particular series. It is a deep and complex whisky, aged for a quarter of a century and bottled at natural cask strength. Aroma of iodine, peat, and seaweed, softened by a gentle sweetness of fudge, warm oatmeal cake, and burnt croissant. Layers of candied lemon and spices can also be found. The texture is very velvety and oily, combining saltiness and smoke with flavors of tropical fruit. A long, warming finish of wood embers and charred oak, with hints of liquorice, tar, and coffee beans.
